Woodland Hide Beginners One to one Workshop
Based at our Private photography hide in North East Wales, this workshop is aimed at beginners or keen amateurs wanting to take their wildlife photography to the next level. It’s a split workshop where we will talk through the basics of Wildlife Photography using a presentation prepared by Gary, a copy of which can be sent to you after the day. This will talk you through all the basics of using your camera, exposure, composition, settings etc. Then you will have the opportunity to photograph the woodland wildlife that visits the hide, such as Buzzards, Woodpeckers, Jays, Fox and other woodland birds and be fully guided and advised by Gary all day.
The day will start with a morning meet up close to the village of Maeshafn, a few miles outside of Mold, and depending on the time of year will run until lare afternoon depending on the light.
Suitable carrion will be placed out for the Buzzards, who may visit anytime after first light to feed. The hide is situated in beautiful countryside on the edge of a wood, with many woodland species of bird also visiting the hide for the food placed out for them, such as Jays, Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Goldcrest and more.
The hide is extremely spacious with plenty of room both for photographers, bags etc. The birds feed close in to the hide, and lenses with a focal length of 300-500mm will be ideal, with a focal length of 500-600mm (full frame) being ideal for the Buzzard shots.
The Day can be single occupancy only with Gary, or if 2 friends or relatives wish to share that is also fine. Dates can be arranged to suit.
