Join Gary in the beautiful North Yorkshire National Park to photograph Red Squirrels
Located a few miles from the village of Hawes we will have exclusive use of specialized hides to photograph the abundant Red Squirrels that inhabit the woodland.
The Red Squirrel is one of the most endangered native mammals in the UK. It has declined dramatically over the past century as a result of loss of broadleaf habitat and the influence of grey squirrels, which carry a virus that is fatal to red squirrels, so to see and be able to photograph this flourishing pocket of squirrels in Yorkshire is fantastic.
Much work has gone into the construction of the hides to give you the best possible chances of unique and special images of the Squirrels. The Woodland hide gives you the opportunity to photograph from many aspects, of the Squirrels in their natural wooded surroundings. The Reflection Pool hide, is superbly constructed to produce reflective images of the Squirrels at the waters edge. And throughout the day we will be able to set you up for jumping shots of the Squirrels and some real close up experiences with a short lens.
In terms of camera equipment required, you will be able to use many lense sizes, so such lenses as 20mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm, 200-400mm, 200-500mm, 300mm, 500mm and 600mm will all work during the day, but if you have any doubts please do ask.
The day will start at a meet up time of approximately 8.30am, and will run until mid afternoon. The cost of £165 includes exclusive hire fee of the hides, and all professional guiding throughout the day.
A non refundable £50 deposit will secure a place, with the balance payable a week or so before.
