Birds of Prey and Iberian Lynx Workshop, Central Spain

Join me in the Mountains of Central Spain to photograph Birds of Prey such as Golden Eagle, Imperial Eagle, Griffon and Black Vultures plus an evening session photographing Barn Owls, after 3 days with the Birds, we then travel south to a new location for the remaining 2 days to photograph Iberian Lynx

The Raptor hides are situated close to the mountain village of El Barraco, which is a one and half hour drive from Madrid Airport, the Lynx hides further south in the Sierra du Andujar.

There are numerous comfortable hides located in different areas of the surrounding mountains and valleys, specifically appointed for the different species of Eagles, Vultures, and are designed for the light direction and outlook. The Lynx hide is part of a comfortable Villa complex where we will be staying.

Everything is included in the cost of this trip except your flights to/from the UK to Madrid, where the workshop starts, the advised flights to book will be communicated to you, booking is very simple, and as an example are generally around £250(Easy Jet, Ryanair)

Included in the cost are airport transfers from and back to Madrid, accommodation for the duration of your stay in El Barraco and Andujar, at a delightful small family run Hotel close to the Raptor hides and the Villa at the Lynx hides , all food except evening meal at El Barraco , guidance and tuition for five full days in the hides, plus an evening session photographing Barn Owls.

For the Birds, It is possible to photograph Golden Eagle, Imperial Eagle, Booted Eagle, Griffon Vulture, Black Vulture, Iberian Fox, and a selection of small birds such as Iberian Magpie, Shrike, and many small birds. All against a magnificent back drop of the Central Mountains. All the hides have been carefully located to provide jaw dropping back drops to your images. The Lynx hide is set in an amazing conservation area, where the Lynx are making a remarkable comeback from near extinction.

In terms of camera kit, lenses in the range of 300-500mm (full frame) are ideal, a tripod is required for all the hides. If you have any doubt about the suitabilty of your camera equipment please do get in touch.
