Birds of Prey and Iberian Lynx Workshop, Central Spain

Join me in the Mountains of Central Spain to photograph Birds of Prey such as Golden Eagle, Imperial Eagle, Griffon and Black Vultures plus an evening session photographing Barn Owls, after 3 days with the Birds, we then change location for the remaining 2 days to photograph Iberian Lynx

The hides are situated close to the mountain village of El Barraco, which is a one and half hour drive from Madrid Airport.

There are numerous comfortable hides located in different areas of the surrounding mountains and valleys, specifically appointed for the different species of Eagles, Vultures, and the Lynx, and are designed for the light direction and outlook.

Everything is included in the cost of this trip except your flights to/from the UK to Madrid, where the workshop starts, the advised flights to book will be communicated to you, booking is very simple, and as an example are generally around £200(Easy Jet, Ryanair)

Included in the cost are airport transfers from and back to Madrid, accommodation for the duration of your stay in El Barraco, at a delightful small family run Hotel close to the hides , all food except evening meal, guidance and tuition for four full days in the hides, plus an evening session photographing Barn Owls, and then an over night stay at a 4 star Hotel adjacent to the airport the evening before flying home.

For the Birds, It is possible to photograph Golden Eagle, Imperial Eagle, Booted Eagle, Griffon Vulture, Black Vulture, Iberian Fox, and a selection of small birds such as Iberian Magpie, Shrike, and many small birds. All against a magnificent back drop of the Central Mountains. All the hides have been carefully located to provide jaw dropping back drops to your images.

In terms of camera kit, lenses in the range of 300-500mm (full frame) are ideal, a tripod is required for all the hides. If you have any doubt about the suitabilty of your camera equipment please do get in touch.

This area of Central Spain is an incredible place to visit, the people are ever so friendly, it’s a lovely clean place, and we will be staying in a traditional family run hotel.
