IN ASSOCIATION WITH GAUNTLET BIRDS OF PREY , KNUTSFORD, CHESHIRE

After the amazing success of last years workshops, we are able to offer once again our specialist photography workshop featuring two iconic Birds of Prey at Gauntlets fantastic Centre on the outskirts of Knutsford.

The day has been designed to give you the opportunity to photograph the Goshawk and Golden Eagle, and give you the chance of totally unique and special images.

Based in and around the Centre we have chosen each location carefully to maximise the potential for truly special images.

Working with the Goshawks and Golden Eagles is ongoing and whilst the itinerary below is fixed at the moment, as this work continues to evolve the hope is that we can make the day even more special.

It is our intention during the day to give you the opportunity to photograph both species in flight and feeding.

The Goshawks, both male and female will be flown through the trees around the pond, and will give awesome images as they twist and turn through the branches. The Golden Eagle will be flown across an open meadow, maybe hunting a lure machine, and you will have amazing opportunities to photograph this iconic bird in flight, in active hunt mode.

Then both the Goshawks and Golden Eagle will be fed on natural prey food such as Rabbit, game bird etc. again giving opportunities for completely natural images of the birds.

All the birds that will be used for the workshop, will have no equipment such as straps or jesses.

For the workshop the camera equipment required would be..

Camera

Lenses …. such lenses such as 24-70mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm, 200-500mm, 200-600mm etc all will work well, if you need any advice on lens suitabilty please do get in touch.

Tripod and head

Wireless Shutter release, or wired but must be at least 10m long.may be useful for wide angle close up images, or for the flying images.

This really is a totally unique workshop for photographing two iconic birds of prey, they are captive birds but will look as wild as wild is, but please do not pass any images off as wild birds.

Birds of Prey and photographing them is Gary’s real passion, and he will be on hand all day to assist, guide and help you achieve images to be proud of.

There are only 6 places available for this workshop, and they are sure to fill fast, email Gary direct at gjwildlifephotography@outlook.com for a booking form. Below are a few images of the actual birds at the Centre that will be photographed over the course of the day, and a bit of feedback from our Guests on previous workshops.
