Kingfisher Photography Workshop

Situated in a beautiful Estate Parkland beside a lake, near the town of Market Drayton, North Shropshire.

The Kingfisher hide is an easy 5 minute walk from the car park beside the Estate Lake. The hide is heated, with close by toilet facilities, and is equipped with gimbal heads on plates, and double beanbags. With comfortable seating, hooks for your coats and bags and even mobile phone charging, your every comfort is catered for.

The hide is designed to give you the opportunity of photographing Kingfishers both perched and diving.

But also from the hide you will be able to see and photograph lots of waterfowl such as Swans, Coots, various Ducks, and Little Grebe

You will need boots as sometimes it can be a it muddy underfoot, Warm clothing and a flask of something warm is recommended.

You’ll need a lens in the 300mm- 600mm range for perched shots, please remember spare batteries and memory cards.

For the diving shots you will need a wireless remote or a 5m wired, waterproof camera cover and a lens that will shoot in the range of 100mm full frame, or around 65mm on a crop sensor, and a camera body with a decent frame rate to improve your chances.

For the full duration of the day Gary will be with you to advise, help you achieve the best possible shots, helping with composition, technique and settings etc.
