This trip is timed to photograph iconic species in the depths of the Northern Finland Winter.

Golden Eagle photography offers photographers a rare opportunity to work with one of Europe’s most impressive raptors at close range. The professionally positioned hides provide reliable conditions to photograph Golden Eagles in flight, on the ground, and perched. Located near Oulu, Finland, this experience is designed for photographers who value quality, consistency, and authentic wildlife encounters. Mid-winter is characterised by very short daylight hours, which often concentrate Golden Eagle activity into a limited time window. This makes mid-winter the best period to observe and photograph interaction between Eagles, including dramatic encounters at the feeding site. Snow-covered surroundings are typical at this time of year, and in suitable weather conditions the surrounding forest can be covered in beautiful white frost, creating a clean and atmospheric winter backdrop for eagle photography. Grey-headed Woodpecker and Black Woodpecker are also often active during this period and regularly visit the area.

The Eagle Owl is one of Finland’s most impressive birds to photograph. Its massive size, piercing eyes, and powerful presence create unforgettable moments for wildlife photographers, especially in the quiet forest setting where every movement and call adds to the atmosphere.

The Eagle Owl photography hides in Finland, located near Oulu, offer rare opportunities to photograph this iconic nocturnal predator at close range in carefully prepared conditions. From the hides, photographers can focus fully on composition and timing while capturing striking portraits and atmospheric images of Eagle Owls as they visit the site. The calm forest surroundings and controlled setup make these hides well suited for both dramatic low-light images and clean, natural-looking photographs.
