A BRAND NEW WORKSHOP FOR 2026
For the first time I am now able to offer a Red Squirrel workshop in my home country of Wales.
The Isle of Anglesey is a real stronghold for Red Squirrels in Wales, with vital and ongoing work carried out by many to keep the island free of the Grey Squirrel, which has meant that Red Squirrels have continued to live here relatively threat free.
I have photographed Red Squirrels at many places in the UK and Europe, but I am super proud to now have the opportunity to show groups of guests these wonderful creatures here in North Wales.
The Workshop takes place on Anglesey, in a beautiful mixed woodland, and the squirrels are photographed in their natural environment. The area is blessed with a real good population of Squirrels, although numbers that you see cannot be guaranteed, you are likely to have a productive day.
The workshop starts in the morning, meet up times will be advised and runs for approximately 5 hours. You will be out in the open photographing them, no hides are used, the Squirrels are comfortable with this so long as you listen to the advice given, and respect this is their environment you have the privilege of visiting.
There is no requirement for long focal length expensive lenses, as they are close by and basic camera equipment will give you great opportunities for special images.
Ideal lenses are such like 100-400mm, 70-200mm, 200-500mm etc, if you require any advice on your equipment suitability please get in touch.
There are only 6 places available for this workshop, and they are sure to fill fast, email Gary direct at gjwildlifephotography@outlook.com for a booking form. Below are a few images of the actual Squirrels photographed in a short 90 minute session recently, all shot with a 180-600mm lens.
