IN ASSOCIATION WITH GAUNTLET BIRDS OF PREY & COTTONS HOTEL AND SPA, KNUTSFORD, CHESHIRE,  WE ARE NOW ABLE TO OFFER THE ULTIMATE BIRD OF PREY PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed to give the photographer a complete portfolio of Owl and Raptor images from 2 action filled days at Gauntlets amazing Centre in Knutsford, plus accommodation at the awesome Cottons Hotel & Spa.

We will meet at the Centre at 10am on Saturday, and take you through a full days photography, in the beautiful surroundings of the natural pond, wood, and meadow beside the Centre. All the birds will be perched and flying totally naturally in these surroundings, giving you totally unique and natural images. With virtually every bird free, totally free of any straps, jesses etc. We do not advertise workshops of the birds with the equipment photoshopped out, years of training and trust between the birds and staff has created this unique opportunity.

The weekend has been designed to give you the opportunity to photograph various birds to give you the chance of totally unique and special images, as part of a small group of guests, and has been planned to make the best of the stunning autumnal colours as a backdrop.

Based around the Centre we have chosen each location carefully to maximise the potential for truly special images, utilising the beautiful pond area besides the Centre, left to grow wild, its the perfect backdrop to work with the birds. We will incorporate the best from our consistently sold out photography days, and then on the Sunday we will run through many of the set ups that we run through on our Specialist days, PLUS few will also spend some time in the barn for you to photograph nocturnal species such as Barn Owl in the dark.

Below is list of many of the birds that will feature over the weekend, and  some special examples of what may be included, we are constantly working on new set ups and scenarios, as different birds come in and out of condition and ability to work…

Tawny Owl, Barn Owl, Great Gray Owl, Long Eared Owl, Eagle Owl, Peregrine Falcon, Common Kestrel, Red Kite, Goshawk, White Tailed Eagle, Golden Eagle and more….

Barn Owl

The opportunity to photograph a hunting Barn Owl, low level from a Voles point of view, and as it hovers over the long meadow grass it hunts across.

White Tailed  Eagle

Replicating this birds natural behaviour in the wild, we will be giving you the opportunity to photograph the Eagle swooping in over a beautifully natural pond to the rear of the Centre, as it plucks a fish from the surface of the pond and flies out over your heads.

Golden Eagle

An amazing opportunity to get up close to this iconic bird of prey as its feeds on its natural prey of rabbit or pheasant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be up close and personal to these amazing birds that Graham and his team at Gauntlet always have in tip top condition,  you will not need long expensive lenses to achieve nice images.

This will be  a real special weekend , will be hugely popular, in a fantastic location, with an array of really special birds.

PLUS as well as including lunch, drinks etc while you are at the Centre, we have arranged Saturday evening accommodation for you at the Centres neighbour, the fantastic Cottons Hotel and Spa, a stunning 4 star hotel, and will include evening dinner.

Birds of Prey and photographing them is Gary’s real passion, and he will be on hand right through the weekend to assist, guide and help you achieve images to be proud of. Plus bring your laptop along and we will run through processing images after dinner on the Saturday evening.

There are only 6 places available for this workshop, and they are sure to fill fast, email Gary direct at gjwildlifephotography@outlook.com for a booking form. Below are a few images of the actual birds at the Centre that will be photographed over the course of the weekend, and a bit of feedback from our Guests on previous workshops.
