A Unique Wildlife Photography Experience on Loch Shiel
Together, we’ll spend the day immersed in one of Scotland’s most spectacular landscapes, searching for and observing the majestic white-tailed eagles. Photographers will have the opportunity to capture these incredible birds through their lenses, other wildlife and dramatic Highland scenery around us.
Whether you’re passionate about photography, or simply want to experience nature in a creative and meaningful way, this workshop offers something truly special. It’s a chance to slow down, observe, create, and share the experience with like-minded people.
Spaces will be limited to ensure a personal and rewarding experience for everyone.
We will sail from the popular village of Glenfinnan, if you are a Harry Potter fan you can tie the trip in with a visit to the Viaduct that features in the film just above the village. The MV Sileas offers you the opportunity to sail into and visit one of Britain’s few remaining wilderness areas, where regular sightings of Golden Eagles and Red Deer are common, along with the White Tailed Eagle.
Accessible only by boat, the eighteen-mile length of Loch Shiel, once a sea-loch but reshaped by the retreating glaciers of the last Ice Age, contains a wide variety of wildlife amidst stunning mountain scenery. The boat has a well-stocked Bar, a Toilet and is licenced to carry a maximum of 50 passengers (approximately 25 under cover)
We leave the pontoon at Glenfinnan around 9am and cruise down the Loch watching and photographing the wildlife that we see, which will hopefully see the resident White Tailed Eagles active around the boat and the loch side. We sail the full length of the Loch and then do the journey in reverse in the afternoon back to Glenfinnan.
A £50 non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.
